USP :Ride the bolesworth estate for 1 day only, mostly private land un-rideable for the rest of the year!
Two race distances - the 'Beast' being slightly longer and teensy bit more technical on the bike than the 'MiniBeast'. Both have a varying degree of toughness depending on the weather....but make no mistake they are tough.....but great fun if you like getting muddy and enjoy a challenge. 2013 saw a challenging course with ice and snow!
Prizes - supplied by Global Bike - are 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female for each race distance!
The venue will be on the fabulous Bolesworth Estate at the spectacular and exciting Hales Superbole Mountain Boarding Centre, Harthill near Tattenhall.
The runs are entirely "off-road" - both courses taking in the heights of Rawhead - and the bike will use short pieces of country lanes to connect up the picturesque countryside of fields and forest tracks. Bike route this year is the same as 2013, this cuts down on the amount of road usage - so more off road, more mud and more fun!! Have a look at the attachment to get a general idea of where the bike goes - apologies it's not super-duper quality!! Please DO NOT ride the bike course as, other than the road sections, it is ALL on PRIVATE land belonging to Bolesworth Estate. Anyone riding across the Estate without prior permission, other than on race day, risks being 'apprehended' by one of the gamekeepers or estate people!
The shorter race is aimed at novices while the longer event is for more experienced riders. Both courses are challenging with a couple of nasty hill surprises for the longer route!
Entry for each of the two events can be made on-line.
You must be 17 years of age or older on 31 December 2014.
Photography on the day will be by Sport Sunday Event Photography Ltd - see photos page for downloads.
This year we will be using chip timing.
