(Deva Triathlon)

(Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2017

 

Notice is hereby given that Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with the provisions of Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect will be to prohibit and restrict vehicular traffic on roads in the City of Chester and the Parish of Churton by Farndon, to enable the Deva Triathlon to take place on Sunday 3rd June 2017.

 

The Order will:

Close the following roads from 8am Sat 3rd June until 3pm Sun 4th June
The Groves – Souters Lane to a point 123 metres north-east of Lower Bridge Street

Close the following roads from 3am for a maximum duration of 12 hours
Souters Lane – whole length (Little St John Street to The Groves)

The Groves – Souters Lane to a point 123 metres north-east of Lower Bridge Street

Close the following roads at 6.00am for a maximum duration of 5:00 hours.
Vicars Lane to westbound traffic – whole length (Love Street to Little St John Street)

Little St John Street to westbound traffic – whole length (Vicars Lane to Newgate Street)

Pepper Street to westbound traffic – Newgate Street to Volunteer Street

Park Street – whole length (Little St John Street to Duke Street)

Duke Street – whole length (Park Street to Lower Bridge Street)

Close the following roads at 6.00am for a maximum duration of 7:00hours
Grosvenor Park Road (including the slip road from Boughton into Grosvenor Park Road) – the nearside southbound lane from Boughton to Union Street

Union Street – the nearside westbound lane from Grosvenor Park Road to Love Street

Lower Bridge Street – Duke Street to Handbridge

Handbridge – Lower Bridge Street to Queens Park Road

Castle Drive – Little Roodee Car Park Entrance to Lower Bridge Street

Close the following roads at 6:30am for a maximum duration of 4:00 hours
Grosvenor Park Terrace – The Royal Chester Rowing Club entrance to The Groves

The Groves and rear road – Grosvenor Park Terrace to a point approximately 25 metres west of the Suspension Bridge

Close the following road from 7am for a maximum duration of 5 hours
Chester Road, Churton – Sibbersfield Lane to southerly junction with Stannage Lane

Close the following roads from 7.00am for a maximum duration of 6:00 hours
Christleton Road/Boughton – the nearside westbound lane from Challinor Street to The Bars Gyratory

Close the gap in the central reservation of Boughton at its junction with Hoole Lane from 7.00am for a maximum duration of 6 hours
Suspend the contra-flow bus, taxi and cycle lane along the whole length of Love Street (Foregate Street to Union Street) from 6.00am for a maximum duration of 5:00 hours
Prohibit waiting from 8am on Saturday 3rd June until 3pm on Sunday 4th June on The Groves (south side)from 132 metres north-east of Lower Bridge Street for a distance of 102 metres in a north-easterly direction
Prohibit waiting from 5am on Saturday 4th June until 1pm on Sunday 4th June on the following lengths of road:
Sandy Lane, Boughton (both sides) – from 46 metres south of Christleton Road to 31 metres south of Mortlake Crescent

The Mount (both sides) – Sandy Lane to easterly junction with Christleton Road

Victoria Crescent, from the Queens Park Suspension Bridge to the junction with Lower Park Road

Lower Park Road, from the junction with Victoria Crescent to the junction with Elizabeth Crescent.

 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES FOR TRAFFIC

Traffic diverted from Vicars Lane, Little St John Street and Pepper Street should proceed via St Oswald’s Way, St Martin’s Way, Nicholas Street and Grosvenor Street

Traffic diverted from Lower Bridge Street and Handbridge should proceed via Grosvenor Street, Grosvenor Road and Overleigh Road

Traffic diverted from Chester Road, Churton should proceed via Sibbersfield Lane, Barton Road/High Street and Churton Road, Farndon

Pedestrian access to premises situated on or adjacent to the above roads will be maintained at all times.
